Afghanistan’s national taekwondo team will participate in the eighth edition of the 2026 World Taekwondo President’s Cup – Asian Region, which is being held in Lahore, Pakistan.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 17 to 21 at the Jinnah Sports Complex in Lahore. According to the Asian Taekwondo Union’s schedule, August 17 will be dedicated to Poomsae competitions, August 18–20 to Kyorugi, and August 21 to Para Kyorugi events.

According to Pakistani sources, athletes from approximately 38 countries are expected to participate in the tournament. The total number of participants is estimated at around 873, including 609 athletes and 262 officials and delegation members.

According to the Taliban’s sports authorities, Afghanistan’s participation in the tournament will provide young Afghan taekwondo athletes with an opportunity to gain international experience and demonstrate their skills on the international stage.
