Local sources in Kunduz say that a group of armed robbers entered a residential house in the city, tied the husband and wife to a wooden bed (charpoy), and after thoroughly searching the house, stole cash and a quantity of gold.

According to the sources, the incident occurred on the first day of Eid al-Adha in the Zir-Dawra area of Kunduz city. Local witnesses said that four armed individuals were involved in the robbery and remained inside the house for about 20 minutes.

The sources added that after entering the house, the robbers searched all parts of the residence and then pulled the head of the household, who has a disability, down from the charpoy. They also took approximately 2,000 Afghanis in cash that belonged to him.

According to information provided by the sources, the robbers then went to the basement of the house, where they found and stole some gold belonging to the man’s wife.

So far, the relevant authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the incident, and no details have been released about the identity of the perpetrators or their whereabouts.

The incident comes amid reports of an increase in armed robberies in several parts of Afghanistan. In recent weeks, citizens in different areas of the country have expressed concern about rising insecurity related to theft and robbery.

Previously, local sources in Kabul had reported that some families were installing broken glass on top of the walls surrounding their homes to prevent burglars from entering.
