In Pakistan’s Balochistan province, concerns are growing over the possibility of widespread and coordinated attacks by Baloch separatist groups. According to reports, the operations of some key institutions have been suspended until August 31, while security measures have been intensified in Quetta and several other areas.
It is reported that telecommunications networks may also be temporarily shut down in some areas, while additional security forces and patrols have been deployed alongside security checkpoints.
The main source of concern is the possibility that, as was the case last year, Baloch militant groups could carry out coordinated and simultaneous attacks in different parts of the province. According to available assessments, these groups may launch coordinated attacks across multiple areas at the same time.
There are also concerns over weakening government control in parts of Balochistan, while the security situation in the province has become increasingly complex. So far, no precise details have been released regarding the nature or potential targets of the anticipated attacks.
