Pakistani media outlets have reported that following an explosion in Bajaur District, located in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at least three members of a family were killed and ten others injured.
According to police, it is believed that a suspected quadcopter-type drone may have dropped explosives on a residential house in Momand Tehsil.
The Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening, 10 July, near the Dama Dolai area.
The victims were members of a single family, including a five-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy.
Police sources said that the bodies of the victims and the injured were transferred to hospital. A special investigative team has also been dispatched to the scene to collect evidence and examine the circumstances of the incident.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, police are investigating all possible angles, and efforts are ongoing to identify those responsible.
Saidalrahman, Deputy Police Chief of Momand region, confirmed the casualties and stated that a formal investigation has been launched, with security forces working to determine the origin of the attack.
In recent weeks, several suspected drone attacks have been reported in Bajaur District. On Sunday, a similar incident resulted in the deaths of a child and a woman. Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had previously stated that these suspected drones are being operated from an unknown location.
