Abdul Basir Anwar was born in 1952 (1331 Solar Hijri) in Parwan Province. He completed his primary education in Kabul and later graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Kabul University. He also pursued legal studies in Pakistan.

During the republican administration, Anwar served as an advisor to former President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and was subsequently appointed Minister of Justice. Throughout his tenure, he played an active role in legal and judicial affairs.

Following the political changes of 2021, he migrated to Türkiye and continued his political activities there within the framework of the “Supreme Council of Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan.”

According to reports, Dr. Abdul Basir Anwar died on Tuesday in Ankara due to illness.
