Summary

Ashraf Ghani, the former President of Afghanistan, in response to Pakistan’s successive airstrikes on the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar, stated that these attacks are not merely a security incident, but rather a serious national call for deep reflection, national accountability, and an honest assessment of Afghanistan’s current situation, its national position, and its future.

Ghani said: “I am ready to contribute, without seeking any privileges, to the formation of a national Afghan consensus and to the reconnection of Afghanistan with the world.”

It is worth noting that Pakistan carried out deadly airstrikes last night on the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar. According to reports, the highest number of civilian casualties occurred in the Mandakhil area of the Zazai Aryub district in Paktia province.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has also officially confirmed that as a result of these airstrikes, at least 28 civilians were killed and 49 others were severely injured.
