Officials of the Chamber of Mines and Industry in Kandahar province, which is under Taliban control, say that currently about 24 edible oil production factories are operating in the province.
According to these officials, these factories produce nearly 50,000 tons of edible oil annually from cotton seeds, fulfilling an important part of the domestic market’s needs.
They emphasize that the operation of these factories plays a significant role in the region’s economic growth and has also provided employment opportunities for many people.
