Iranian police have reported that over the past week, 499 Afghans who had entered the country illegally and through smuggling were arrested.
According to the police, these Afghans were detained in various areas of Yazd province.
Iranian officials have stated that the arrested individuals have been transferred to special camps for foreign nationals and are scheduled to be deported back to Afghanistan in the coming days.
In recent days, Iran has accelerated the process of arresting and deporting Afghans, resulting in a large number being returned to their country.
