Forbes magazine has reported that, following the announcement of an agreement with the United States, Iranian officials signed a contract with Russia during a visit to Moscow to purchase 20 helicopters.

According to the report, Pirhossein Kolivand, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, signed the agreement in Moscow with the chief executive of Russia’s helicopter manufacturing company.

Citing information from the WANA news agency, the delivery process for the first four helicopters is expected to be completed by March 2027.

Forbes further states that these helicopters are being acquired to support the operations of the Red Crescent, with the aim of strengthening humanitarian assistance and emergency response capabilities.

The agreement comes at a time when Iran, alongside implementing its deal with the United States, is continuing efforts to expand economic cooperation with Russia and modernize its air fleet.

Meanwhile, Abdolnaser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, also held discussions in Russia with Russian officials regarding the expansion of banking, financial, and trade cooperation.
