Summary

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that its air forces carried out a missile attack early Saturday morning on a U.S. military base in the al-Azraq area of Jordan.

In a statement released by the IRGC, the group said that U.S. fighter aircraft shelters and aircraft parking areas (ramps) were targeted in the attack. According to the IRGC, two fighter jets and three other aircraft were completely destroyed as a result of the strike, while several additional aircraft were also damaged.

The IRGC has also accused the United States of targeting hospitals, bridges, railway lines, ports, and airports in recent attacks. The organization claimed that Washington is targeting civilian infrastructure due to failures on the battlefield.

The statement further alleged that U.S. forces are responsible for the deaths of large numbers of Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, the Philippines, and Palestine. The IRGC called on the people of Jordan to, in its words, “cleanse their country of U.S. forces.”

Note: No official response has so far been issued by U.S. or Jordanian authorities regarding these claims, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
