In southern Calabria, Italy, police discovered the bodies of three Afghan nationals and another migrant worker inside a burned-out vehicle. Two Pakistani nationals have been arrested in connection with the incident on charges of intentional homicide.
Security camera footage shows that the attackers allegedly sprayed flammable substances onto the vehicle, locked the doors from the outside, and then set it on fire.
According to reports, the deadly incident stemmed from a dispute over work and the allocation of accommodation. It is also noted that 14 similar cases of vehicles being set on fire involving migrants had previously been recorded in the same area.
One Afghan national survived the attack, and Italian police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances and motives behind the incident.
