Local sources in Kunduz Province report the killing of a kidnapped child named Ahmad, the son of Allah Mohammad. The incident has once again raised concerns over the rising level of criminal activity, particularly child abductions, in the province.
Sources said on Sunday, 31 Jawza, that the child had been kidnapped by abductors for the purpose of extorting money. According to them, after the family of Ahmad was unable to pay the demanded ransom, the kidnappers killed him.
Based on information from local sources, the abductors later handed the child’s body over to his family. The incident has left Ahmad’s family in mourning, despite their prior efforts to secure his release.
Sources further stated that the family members had approached relevant authorities to locate their son and follow up on the case; however, no information has yet been released regarding the identification or arrest of those responsible for the abduction and murder.
The incident comes amid reports of continued criminal activity, including kidnappings and killings, in several provinces of the country. Local residents say such incidents are causing serious concern about the safety and security of citizens, particularly children.
As of the time of this report, Taliban authorities in Kunduz Province have not issued an official statement regarding the incident, and further details on the investigation remain unavailable.
