Local officials in Herat province have announced the launch of a preliminary survey for the Pashtunband border road. According to them, the project is being implemented by the Herat Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, and road paving is expected to begin after the completion of technical assessments.
Local authorities say the project is part of broader development efforts aimed at improving infrastructure in Herat’s border areas and could play an important role in facilitating mobility for residents of these regions.
Officials added that once the road is completed and paved, residents will have improved access to service centers, markets, and transportation routes, enabling easier movement between border areas.
Residents of the Pashtunband area have long called for the improvement of this road, and the commencement of the survey is seen as the first concrete step toward addressing this demand.
Local officials emphasized that after the survey is completed and the technical plan is prepared, the subsequent phases of the project will begin according to schedule. The project is considered one of the infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving the transportation network and enhancing accessibility in the border areas of Herat province.
