In Tajikistan, Afghanistan’s ambassador Mohammad Zahir Aghbar described the recent attack by the armed group “Sepahian-e Mihan” against the Taliban in Yaftal district of Badakhshan as a significant development against the Taliban. He said the group’s temporary takeover of the district demonstrated that the Taliban are “paper tigers.”
In a statement released on Friday, Aghbar praised the armed individuals who, according to him, revealed the true face of the Taliban to the public. He said their actions proved that the Taliban are not as powerful as they claim to be, adding: “Even the lighting of a single candle in the darkness is enough to create light.”
He emphasized that the Yaftal incident could mark the beginning of a new process in Badakhshan and other parts of Afghanistan. According to him, public opposition to Taliban rule is expanding day by day, indicating that people’s patience has run out.
Mohammad Zahir Aghbar, who oversees the affairs of Afghanistan’s embassy in Tajikistan, has previously made strong statements against the Taliban. He once again called on Afghans to continue their efforts to secure the country’s freedom and bring an end to Taliban rule.
