Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has said that the United States and Israel are the strongest allies of one another, and that relations between the two countries are of particular importance. He emphasized that regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Israel and U.S. President Donald Trump share common objectives, and that as long as he remains Prime Minister of Israel, he will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu also rejected recent remarks made by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, stating that Israel has many allies around the world, but that the relationship between Washington and Jerusalem is of special significance.
He added that although the United States is seeking to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran, the fundamental goal of both countries is the same: Iran must abandon its nuclear weapons program, eliminate its enriched nuclear materials, and dismantle its uranium enrichment facilities.
Netanyahu said that, in his view, joint pressure from Israel and the United States on Iran has helped create conditions in which these objectives could also be achieved through negotiations, and that Israel hopes these goals will be realized through diplomacy.
