Taliban minister for borders, tribes and tribal affairs Noorullah Noori says the Taliban has no concerns whatsoever about the activities of opposition fronts and that there is no room for opposition to the group in Afghanistan.
The Taliban’s ministry of borders, Tribes and tribal affairs said on Wednesday, September 2, on its X account that Noori made the remarks during a meeting with a number of religious scholars and tribal elders from Afghanistan’s northern and northeastern provinces. He said Afghans have no differences among themselves and claimed that past opposition was created by foreign intelligence agencies.
Referring to recent attacks by anti-Taliban fronts, Noori said the group has no concerns about its opponents. He added: “Those who spread rumors of opposition are working for foreign projects.”
The remarks come as anti-Taliban fronts have claimed in recent weeks that they have increased their attacks against the group in various provinces across Afghanistan.
The Taliban also said that tribal elders and religious scholars from the northern and northeastern provinces have expressed their readiness to defend Afghanistan alongside the group.
