Summary

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan says that the country has lost more than 90,000 people in its fight against terrorism, while the economic losses resulting from the campaign have exceeded US$150 billion.

In a statement issued on Friday to mark the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that 2025 was one of the deadliest years in more than a decade in terms of security-related incidents.

The statement noted that the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Terrorism is not merely an occasion for ceremonies, but also an opportunity to remember the lives of the victims, acknowledge the suffering of their families, and assess the ongoing fight against terrorism.

Islamabad claimed that terrorism is now emerging in various forms, with militant groups using new technologies and cyberspace to expand their activities and attacks.

Without naming any country, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that violent attacks are being planned, financed, and directed from sanctuaries across the border. According to the ministry, these attacks target civilians, women, children, and security forces.

Islamabad reaffirmed that the fight against terrorism will continue and stressed the need for international cooperation to counter this threat.
