Summary

Pakistan has accused India of using the Taliban to advance a proxy war. On Monday, 14th of Sawr, Khawaja Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, stated that, in his view, India is attempting through the Taliban to exploit Afghan territory to destabilize Pakistan and increase security pressures on the country.

According to the Pakistani official, the Taliban are effectively acting as representatives of New Delhi’s interests. He claimed that this situation has intensified security challenges for Islamabad and raised concerns at the regional level.

The Defense Minister also alleged that both Pakistani and Afghan Taliban receive support from India. However, so far, none of the accused parties, including India and the Taliban administration, have officially confirmed or denied these claims.

These statements come amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, while insecurity along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border has also raised concerns about how the Taliban administration manages the security situation.
