General Sami Sadat, the leader of the United Front, says that the phase of political struggle against the Taliban has ended and that, according to him, an armed campaign to overthrow the authoritarian regime has now begun.
In an interview with an American military publication, Sadat said that the United Front has launched new operations under the name “Muharib” and claimed that the group has carried out attacks against Taliban forces in the provinces of Kandahar, Helmand, and Badghis.
Ahead of the fifth anniversary of the fall of Kabul, he has also presented a plan for the establishment of a transitional government following the removal of the Taliban from power.
The Taliban have so far not responded to Sami Sadat’s remarks or the alleged operations.
