Through the mediation of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Minister of Interior Affairs, an agreement has been reached between the Bori Khel tribe of Spera district in Khost and the Gyan Khel tribe of Gayan district in Paktika to end a longstanding feud that has lasted for more than a century.
According to reports, more than 200 people have been killed and many others injured in clashes between the two sides over the course of the conflict.
It is reported that, during the prolonged dispute, both sides planted mines along roads targeting one another and, in some cases, used heavy weapons.
According to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, following an assessment of the situation in the area and an agreement between the two sides, a final decision was reached to resolve the conflict. A special committee has also been appointed to oversee and monitor the implementation of the agreement.
