Local sources in Kunar have reported the discovery of the decapitated body of a young man beside a river in Kunar Province.
The sources said today, Monday, 19 Asad/Mordad, that the young man, Abdul Basit, was originally from Nangarhar and had been killed by unidentified individuals in Kunar Province two days earlier for unknown reasons.
According to the sources, Abdul Basit had traveled to Kunar two days ago for recreation when unidentified individuals killed him following a verbal altercation. They then reportedly took his smartphone and motorcycle with them.
Citizens say that under the rule of the Taliban, criminal activities as well as mysterious and targeted killings have increased significantly across Afghanistan.
