The Central Bank of Afghanistan, under the Taliban administration, says that Siddiqullah Khalid, the bank’s First Deputy Governor, held discussions with Abrar Mirza Olimov, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, regarding banking cooperation, strengthening relations, technical collaboration, and facilitating banking interactions to support trade development.
According to information released by the Central Bank of Afghanistan, the meeting covered the expansion of banking cooperation between the two countries, further strengthening of banking ties, effective management of banking transactions in response to increasing trade volumes, technical cooperation, exchange of experience, and other financial and banking matters.
Siddiqullah Khalid said that the Central Bank of Afghanistan is ready to further expand its cooperation with Uzbekistan to continue financial and banking collaboration and promote the shared interests of both countries.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of strengthening banking relations and said that his country would continue its cooperation to develop mutual partnerships and facilitate banking transactions.
In recent years, the Taliban and Uzbekistan have increased efforts to expand banking cooperation alongside their economic and trade relations. With trade between the two countries growing, strengthening banking ties and facilitating financial transfers are considered important components of economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
