According to reports, due to issues with obtaining an Indian visa, his brother, Ghami Zadran, was unable to accompany him on his brother’s final journey and attend his funeral.
In an emotional message from abroad, Ghami Zadran wrote:
“My homeland! I have entrusted your heroic son and my beloved brother to your embrace. Hold him gently and peacefully, for he has endured great suffering.”
Shapoor Zadran was one of Afghanistan’s leading fast bowlers and played a significant role in the country’s historic first-ever international victory at the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Through his distinctive style of play, passionate spirit, and tireless dedication, he earned a special place in the hearts of cricket fans.
Following Shapoor Zadran’s passing, cricket supporters across Afghanistan, former and current players, and many citizens have expressed their deep sorrow and condolences.
