According to sources, two explosions were heard east of Kabul International Airport at around 8:50 p.m. Kabul time tonight.
The sources said that one of the two blasts was relatively weak, while the other was more powerful. They added that gunfire was also heard from the distant mountainous areas near the airport following the explosions.
Sources further stated that the situation currently appears calm, but no accurate information has yet been obtained regarding the cause and nature of the incident.
The Taliban government has also not issued any official statement or comment regarding the incident so far.
