Today in Kabul, the Taliban have tried two detained Tolo News journalists, Imran Danish and Mansoor Niazi.
Sources say it is still unclear what case the journalists were brought before the court for, and what decision the Taliban judiciary has made regarding them.
Previously as well, the Taliban have issued long prison sentences to several detained journalists from media outlets, which has drawn reactions from media support organizations and human rights groups.
Various journalist support organizations have called on the Taliban to promptly release all imprisoned Afghan journalists, but despite these demands, no positive action has yet been observed from the Taliban.
