Sources say that in the Tor Chaptar area of Darra Adam Khulna,located in Kohat District of KhyberPakhtunkhw, a clash between security forces and armed militants resulted in the deaths of five militants and two Pakistani soldiers,while four other soldiers were injured.
According to security sources, the operation was planned based on intelligence reports after Pakistani forces received information about the presence of militants in the area. The sources added that security forces first cordoned off the mountainous Tor Chapar region, and a fierce exchange of fire later broke out between the two sides during the operation.
Officials stated that a militant hideout was completely destroyed during the operation.
So far, no militant group has commented on the clash. Pakistani security officials have emphasized that the operation will continue until the area is fully cleared of militant presence and secured.
In recent months, insecurity has increased across various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in the tribal regions, with civilians reportedly accounting for the majority of the casualties.
