The Third International Shamama Conference to Be Held Tomorrow at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva
The third International Shamama Conference will take place tomorrow, Monday, June 15, at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.
The Shamama Organization has announced that the conference will focus primarily on advancing gender justice and ensuring accountability regarding the situation of women in Afghanistan. The event aims to facilitate the exchange of perspectives and the development of practical solutions to promote women’s rights and participation.
According to the organizers, the conference will be held in cooperation with representatives from more than 12 countries, UN Women, and a number of international organizations.
Representatives of participating countries, Afghan women, diplomats, policymakers, human rights experts, representatives of international organizations, and civil society activists are expected to share their views on issues affecting women in Afghanistan.
The Shamama Organization stated that participants will discuss a range of topics, including the current status of women in Afghanistan, existing challenges, and policy recommendations to support women’s rights, justice, and meaningful participation in the country’s future.
The International Shamama Conference serves as a platform for examining, analyzing, and proposing practical solutions to issues concerning Afghan women. The second edition of the conference was held in September of the previous solar year, and the third edition will now convene with broad participation from country representatives and international institutions.
