Residents of Moscow have received warnings indicating that mobile internet services may experience temporary disruptions or outages in certain areas of the city.
According to reports, telecommunications operators in Moscow have sent messages to their subscribers, informing them of potential connectivity issues. In one such message issued by the telecommunications company MTS, it was stated that, due to security measures, internet services may be partially disrupted in some areas.
The message emphasized that phone calls, SMS messages, and certain essential services would remain available, and only parts of internet-based services could be affected.
Telecommunications operators have not yet provided further details regarding the cause of the potential restrictions. However, the issuance of these warnings coincides with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin’s announcement about the downing of several Ukrainian drones near the capital.
On the morning of June 25, the Moscow mayor stated that Russian defense systems intercepted and shot down multiple Ukrainian drones in the suburbs of the city.
The exact duration of the possible internet restrictions has not yet been specified, but reports suggest that the measures are likely being implemented as part of security precautions in response to recent threats.
