Summary

Taliban Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid has continued his visit to northern Afghanistan as part of efforts to resolve internal disputes and tensions with the dissatisfied Taliban commander, Jumah Khan Fateh.

The Taliban Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that Mullah Yaqoob Mujahid met with commanders and officials at the 217 Omari Army Corps in Kunduz. According to the ministry, he reviewed security, administrative, and military affairs, listened to reports from officials, and issued recommendations aimed at improving management, strengthening professional coordination, and ensuring the effective implementation of assigned duties.

The Ministry of Defense further stated that Mullah Yaqoob Mujahid also met with a number of disabled Taliban members in Kunduz, listened to their concerns and requests, and provided them with financial assistance.

The visit comes amid reports from reliable sources that disputes among Taliban members in Nusay District of Badakhshan remain unresolved. According to the sources, the Taliban have deployed forces in the area, and helicopters have been conducting flights over the base of Jumah Khan Fateh.

Reports indicate that, due to the sensitive security situation in Badakhshan, the Taliban have also sent special forces and experienced units to the region.
