Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, has said in response to remarks made during the latest United Nations Security Council meeting that the Taliban will not allow anyone to use Afghan territory against another country.
Mujahid said that the Taliban have control over the entire country and that no unauthorised armed group is allowed to operate. According to him, the claims raised at the Security Council regarding Afghanistan’s security situation are inaccurate.
He once again emphasised that ISIS has been eliminated in Afghanistan, its hideouts have been destroyed, and the international community should appreciate the Taliban’s efforts against the group.
The remarks come after representatives from Pakistan, China, the United States, and several other countries expressed concerns during the latest UN Security Council meeting about the activities of ISIS and other armed groups in Afghanistan, as well as potential security threats to the region.
