Afghanistan’s mixed martial arts fighter Abdulaziz Badakhshi is set to return to professional competition after a one-year and seven-day absence from the cage. He is scheduled to face Chinese fighter Sivheir Huseimen on 17 Asad 1405 (August 8, 2026), in an ITF-organized event in India, with the bout taking place in 20 days.
Badakhshi has announced that the fight will be broadcast live through UFC Fight Pass. The Afghan fighter will step back into the cage after 372 days away from professional competition, marking his first bout since his last appearance.
According to the reputable MMA statistics website Tapology, Abdulaziz Badakhshi has competed in 19 professional fights, recording 14 victories and 5 defeats. Known by his nickname “The Afghan Lion,” Badakhshi last competed on August 2, 2025, at an event organized by MFN.
A significant portion of Badakhshi’s victories have come via knockout. Of his 14 professional wins, 11 have been achieved by knockout, two by submission, and one by judges’ decision. This means that nearly 79 percent of his victories have been secured through knockout finishes.
His opponent, 28-year-old Chinese fighter Sivheir Huseimen, enters the bout with a professional record of 29 fights, including 19 wins and 10 losses. He last competed on January 10, 2025, in a World League Fighting (WLF) event.
Statistics show that Huseimen has enjoyed most of his success through submissions. Of his 19 victories, 13 have come by submission, two by knockout, and four by judges’ decision. He has also suffered two knockout defeats, while his other losses have come through submission and judges’ decisions, with four defeats in each category.
The matchup will mark Badakhshi’s long-awaited return to professional MMA action and will see two experienced fighters with contrasting styles meet inside the cage.
