The Afghanistan united front has claimed that one member of the Taliban’s intelligence service was killed in a “targeted operation” in the 18th Security District of western Kabul.
In a statement issued on Sunday, 1 Sunbula, the group said the operation was carried out the previous night. It claimed that the individual was involved in identifying, arresting, forcibly disappearing, torturing, and killing personnel of the former Afghan government.
The Afghanistan United Front also alleged that the Taliban intelligence member had been involved in identifying and arresting women protesters and participants in demonstrations advocating for the rights of women and girls in Kabul.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident and have not confirmed responsibility for, or provided details about, the attack.
