Ali Maisam Nazary, the head of foreign relations for Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front, has criticized those who, he says, simultaneously support both King Amanullah Khan and the Taliban.
In a post on X, Nazary said these individuals praise Amanullah Khan’s reforms on one day, while on another day present arguments in favor of normalizing and legitimizing the Taliban government.
He described the Taliban as “the most hardline Islamist group” in Afghanistan in the 2020s, saying that these individuals promote their contradictory positions on social media, in the media, think tanks, and other public forums.
The senior National Resistance Front official questioned what common intellectual or political ground exists among these individuals that, in his view, leads them to support two politically and ideologically opposing projects.
