Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement will not begin as long as threats against Iran continue.
In a message posted on Tuesday, Araghchi wrote: “Paragraph 13 of the Memorandum of Understanding is perfectly clear and explicit: as long as threats against Iran continue, negotiations to reach a final agreement will not commence. Honor your signature.”
His remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his warnings against Iran, saying that if no agreement is reached with Tehran, he would “finish the job.”
In another part of his statement, Araghchi referred to the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Khamenei, saying that “millions of proud Iranians gathered in unity and solidarity” to pay tribute to Iran’s former leader.
Araghchi also stressed that the Iranian people and the country’s armed forces are not intimidated by threats, stating: “Neither they nor our brave armed forces are intimidated by any threat.”
