UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that human trafficking is a blatant violation of human rights, urging the international community to work jointly and in a coordinated manner to end this phenomenon.
In his message on July 30, World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Guterres emphasized that human exploitation can be prevented through collective efforts, and that protecting victims must remain a priority.
Meanwhile, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) warned that the lack of job opportunities for returning Afghans exposes them to a serious risk of human trafficking.
Furthermore, the United Nations called for supporting victims of human trafficking, ensuring justice, and raising public awareness.
