Amid ongoing insecurity in various areas of Balochistan, unidentified armed men have killed a female police officer and a university professor in two separate attacks.
According to reports, in an attack in the Absar area of Kech district, armed men opened fire on a female police officer while she was in a vehicle. The police stated that the woman was killed, and her husband and five-year-old son were injured. The injured and the deceased were taken to the hospital, but so far, nothing has been reported about the identity or motive of the attackers.
Meanwhile, in the Mingalabad area of Nushki district, unidentified armed men shot and killed university professor Ghamkhwar Hayat.
These incidents occur at a time when, last week, the deputy head of Gwadar University, two professors, and a driver were also kidnapped by armed men in Mastung district, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The increase in attacks against security forces and academic figures in Balochistan has heightened concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the region.
