The Islamic Liberation Movement of the People of Afghanistan announced in a statement that its forces carried out a targeted operation on the evening of Tuesday, July 14, 2026 (23 Saratan 1405 in the Afghan calendar) in Injil district, near Hashemi Bridge in Herat Province.
According to the statement, one member of the Taliban’s intelligence service was killed during the operation. The group further claimed that its fighters withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties and seized a handgun and a motorcycle.
The statement said the operation took place at approximately 9:00 p.m. local time. The group did not provide additional details about how the operation was carried out or the identity of the individual it claimed was killed.
The Islamic Liberation Movement of the People of Afghanistan also stated that it would continue its military operations against the Taliban, describing these actions as part of its broader strategy to challenge Taliban rule.
