Officials from the Kabul Police Command say that preliminary investigations into the death of Farishta Amadi, a UNAMA employee, indicate that she was not the victim of a homicide but died as a result of suicide.
The spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command stated that the initial findings regarding the circumstances of the incident point to suicide. However, he emphasized that the final conclusions will be officially announced only after forensic examinations and other relevant investigations have been completed.
Earlier, reports circulating on social media claimed that Farishta Amadi had been killed in an armed attack. The latest official statements, however, reject those claims and describe the case as a suicide.
