Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the country exported approximately 2.4 million metric tons of grain to Afghanistan between September 2025 and the end of July 2026, marking a 57 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
According to the ministry, the primary driver behind the growth in exports has been rising demand for grain in Afghanistan and across Central Asian markets.
During the same period, Kazakhstan’s grain exports to Uzbekistan increased by 36 percent, reaching 5.8 million metric tons. Exports to Kyrgyzstan rose by 35 percent to 528,000 metric tons, while shipments to Turkmenistan increased by 32 percent to 220,000 metric tons.
Afghanistan remains one of the leading importers of Kazakh grain and flour, with agricultural trade between the two countries expanding steadily in recent years.
