Afghan writer and social activist Majid Qar has criticized the Taliban’s military strategies, saying that during disputes with Pakistan, senior Taliban military officials did not go to the front lines, whereas in conflicts against Afghans, both senior and junior commanders are sent to the battlefield.
In a statement, Qar said that during the Taliban’s alleged conflict with Pakistan, even lower-ranking military leaders did not appear on the front lines. However, now that the fighting is against Afghans, both high-ranking and lower-ranking commanders are being seen directly on the front lines.
In his remarks, he described the Taliban as “enemies of the Afghan people.”
Qar’s comments come at a time when clashes have reportedly taken place in recent days between the Taliban and their armed opponents in parts of Badakhshan Province.
Following the continuation of these clashes, the Taliban’s head of information and culture for Badakhshan was also killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen.
