Abu Dhabi’s “Offlimits” Music Festival Featuring Shakira Canceled.
The “Offlimits” music festival, which was scheduled to bring some of the world’s most prominent singers and bands to Abu Dhabi, has been canceled.
The festival was scheduled to take place on November 21 this year at Etihad Park on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, with Colombian superstar Shakira headlining the event.
The Jonas Brothers, Ne-Yo, Biffy Clyro, and Kaleo were among the other high-profile artists scheduled to perform at the festival.
According to the organizers, the festival was canceled due to regional instability. The decision comes after the event had already been postponed from its original date to November because of regional conditions.
The festival was expected to be one of Abu Dhabi’s major music events of the year, with Shakira’s inclusion as the headline performer drawing considerable attention.
The organizers said that ticket holders will receive refunds through the same platforms they used to purchase their tickets.
Despite the cancellation, the decision does not affect Shakira’s scheduled performances in other countries; only her appearance as part of Abu Dhabi’s “Offlimits” festival has been canceled.
The organizers have also indicated that the festival could return next year. However, no specific date or lineup for a future edition has yet been announced.
The cancellation of “Offlimits” comes as a number of cultural and music events across the region have also been affected by ongoing developments and security concerns.
