Neda Mohammad Nadim: Underperforming private universities will be identified.

Taliban’s Minister of Higher Education, Neda Mohammad Nadim, has urged officials of the ministry’s departments to carry out their duties with sincerity, piety, coordination, and commitment, and to make serious efforts toward reforming and improving the affairs of universities.

According to the ministry’s information, Neda Mohammad Nadim said during the leadership council meeting on Tuesday, 23 Saratan, that shortcomings or negligence in one section of an administration can negatively affect the performance of the entire institution. He emphasized that necessary steps should therefore be taken to implement reforms and ensure effective management.

He called on officials of public universities and religious seminaries to carry out continuous and serious oversight of construction projects, student dormitories, and the activities of the Dawat and Guidance departments.

According to the ministry, the meeting also discussed and made decisions on the authorities of central departments responsible for supervising universities and religious seminaries, the identification of some underperforming private universities, the duration of undergraduate programs at public universities, and several other academic and administrative issues.

The meeting also addressed decisions regarding the fees of students who have completed their master’s and doctoral theses but have not yet defended them.

Additionally, a decision was made regarding the extension of the service period for retired professors; however, further details of these decisions have not yet been made public.
