The “Afghanistan Republic Front” says its forces have set fire to several coal-carrying vehicles belonging to the Taliban in Sar-e Pul province.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the front said the attack took place this morning (Sunday, August 30) at Rah-e Gardu Pass, a route connecting Balkhab district in Sar-e Pul province with Dara-e Suf district in Samangan province.
The “Afghanistan Republic Front” said: “During this operation, several vehicles carrying coal, which were illegally transporting Afghanistan’s natural resources, were set on fire.”
The front described mining activities conducted under Taliban control as the “plundering of the country’s natural resources” and called on the public not to remain silent in the face of the “looting of national wealth.”
The “Afghanistan Republic Front” began its military operations against the Taliban earlier this Afghan solar year, focusing mainly on Bamyan province. The Taliban, however, have not yet commented on the attacks claimed by the group.
