The spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture, Khabib Ghafran, stated that two Tolo News journalists have been detained and their cases are under investigation, but the court has not yet made a final decision.
He did not clarify the charges against these journalists or the exact reason for their arrest.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that at least eight Afghan journalists are currently imprisoned in Taliban prisons, a situation that has increased concern and fear among media workers in the country.
Journalists’ rights activists say that this wave of arrests negatively affects freedom of media activity and further restricts access to information.
