In Nangarhar province, local Taliban authorities have announced the closure of the offices of two charitable organizations and two unions in Jalalabad city. The Taliban’s Department of Justice stated that the action was taken because the legal operating licenses of these organizations had expired.
Officials from the Coordination Directorate of the Nangarhar Justice Department said in a statement that they had monitored the activities of charitable organizations and unions in different parts of Jalalabad city. According to the authorities, these organizations had failed to take the necessary steps to renew their licenses; therefore, their activities were suspended and their offices were closed.
The Taliban’s media office in Nangarhar province said that the Justice Department continuously monitors the activities of charitable organizations and unions to ensure that their operations are carried out in a proper and standardized manner.
