Restrictions Imposed on Public Attendance at Hasib Panjshiri’s Funeral in Panjshir.
A relative of Hasib Panjshiri, a commander of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front who was killed in a Taliban attack, says the Taliban prevented local residents and members of the public from attending his funeral in Panjshir.
According to the source, around 1,000 people had gathered to attend Hasib Panjshiri’s funeral, but Taliban forces prevented them from reaching the site of the ceremony.
The source added that the Taliban stopped people approximately 500 meters from the burial site and did not allow them to approach the location where the funeral was being held.
Hasib Panjshiri was killed last Thursday, along with several of his men, following a Taliban ambush in northern Salang.
