The United States has decided to close its consulate in the city of Peshawar, and all diplomatic affairs related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will henceforth be handled through the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
In a statement released on Friday, the U.S. Consulate said that following the closure of the Peshawar facility, consular and other diplomatic services for residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be provided through a dedicated section at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
The statement did not provide details regarding the reason behind the decision, but emphasized that services would continue and that related affairs would be managed through the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
