Local sources in Sar-e-Pul province have reported the killing of an 11-year-old girl in Sozma Qala district of the province. According to these sources, the incident took place in Qazaq village, where the victim was attacked with a knife inside her home.
Sources said the young girl died as a result of knife wounds. It has also been reported that members of her family were present in the house at the time of the incident; however, further details regarding how the attack occurred, the possible motive, or the identity of the perpetrators have not yet been released.
Local sources stated that preliminary investigations into the case are ongoing. However, no individual has so far been identified or arrested in connection with the incident, and no further official information has been made available.
Some local residents have called for a thorough investigation, the identification of those responsible, and justice for the victim’s family. They have urged authorities to handle the case transparently and ensure proper follow-up.
The incident comes amid continued concerns over reports of violence against women and children in Afghanistan, which have drawn attention from citizens and human rights organizations. So far, local Taliban authorities in Sar-e-Pul province have not issued any official response or statement regarding the incident.
