Iranian media have reported that the death sentences of two individuals, accused of membership in “separatist terrorist groups” and “disturbing national security,” have been carried out.
The Iranian news agency Mizan reported on Thursday, May 21, that the sentences of “Ramin Zaleh” and “Karim Maroofpour” were executed this morning.
According to the report, the two were accused of carrying out activities against national security through the formation of and membership in armed groups.
The report states that the executions were carried out by hanging. However, Iranian media did not name any specific group in connection with the case.
This news comes amid reports of an increase in executions in Iran following the 39-day war between the United States, Israel, and Iran, with charges such as “espionage,” “treason,” and cooperation with the “enemy.”
