Local sources in Balkh province say that a young man was killed by gunfire in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital.
According to a source, the victim was identified as “Bikzad Rasouli” and was killed on Wednesday, July 29, in the fourth security district of Mazar-e-Sharif.
The source added that Bikzad Rasouli was working at a commercial center in the city when he was shot during his work by one of his colleagues, resulting in his death.
According to the source, Rasouli was originally from Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province, and had been living in Mazar-e-Sharif for employment.
The cause and motive behind the killing remain unclear. Taliban officials in Balkh province had not commented on the incident at the time of publication.
